New Refectory & classrooms
Extension and re-modelling to a Grade II listed building
Spratton Hall School
The existing arrangement for children's dining in the school was situated within the primary structure of the listed school building. The need to address the disjointed servery and multiple lunch sittings prompted the creation of a new refectory at the rear of the existing structure. In this project, a substantial portion of 1970s lean-to structures was removed and replaced with an extension featuring glulam framing, glass, and brickwork. This addition encompasses a new servery, refectory, and dining area, accompanied by classroom spaces, a Matron's room, and improved access to the art department.
This initiative was developed in conjunction with the school's master plan, a collaborative effort also undertaken by Devonshire Architects.
